Landscape Architect

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Development: Prepare site plans, landscape designs, planting plans, and construction documents using CAD and other design software.
  • Project Management: Lead or support landscape architecture projects from concept through construction, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Client Interaction: Meet with clients to understand their goals, provide expert advice, and present design proposals.
  • Site Analysis: Conduct environmental impact studies, site inventories, and land-use assessments.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, urban planners, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Permitting and Compliance: Ensure designs comply with local zoning laws, environmental regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Sustainability: Integrate sustainable and low-maintenance solutions into landscape designs, including native plant selection, stormwater management, and green infrastructure.
  • Construction Oversight: Visit job sites to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Professional licensure (RLA) or eligibility to become licensed.
  • 3–7 years of experience in landscape architecture or related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and/or Lumion; experience with GIS and BIM tools a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of horticulture, ecology, and sustainable design principles.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
