Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Civil CAD Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and possess a strong understanding of civil engineering and land surveying principles. This role involves creating and modifying detailed drawings and plans for various projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and revise detailed drawings for civil engineering and land surveying projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to interpret design concepts and translate them into technical drawings.
  • Prepare site development plans, including grading, drainage, utility layouts, and erosion control.
  • Assist in the preparation of boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys.
  • Ensure all drawings adhere to company and industry standards, including local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain organized records of all drawings and project documentation.
  • Conduct field visits as necessary to gather data and verify existing conditions

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or certification in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil drafting, preferably within a surveying or engineering firm.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with other CAD software is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering and land surveying principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GIS software and data integration.
  • Knowledge of local zoning and land development regulations in Georgia.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and processes.
