Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop land development projects, including site grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and environmental considerations.
- Perform environmental impact assessments (EIA) and develop strategies to mitigate environmental risks associated with land development projects.
- Prepare and review site plans, construction documents, and permits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, surveyors, contractors, and local agencies, to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Conduct environmental site assessments (ESAs) and propose solutions to manage and mitigate environmental concerns, such as erosion control, wetland protection, and stormwater management.
- Ensure projects meet sustainability standards by incorporating green building practices, low-impact development (LID) techniques, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
- Provide technical support for construction teams during project execution, ensuring adherence to plans and specifications.
- Prepare cost estimates, project schedules, and feasibility reports.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental laws and building codes.
- Attend client meetings, present design concepts, and provide project updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in land development, environmental engineering, or civil engineering, with a focus on environmental sustainability.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, including stormwater management, erosion control, wetlands, and water quality standards.
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools.
- Strong understanding of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for environmental analysis and site planning.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- A commitment to sustainable design and environmentally responsible practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with LEED certification or other green building certifications.
- Familiarity with hydrology modeling software and environmental site assessment tools.
- Experience with public outreach and community involvement in environmental projects.
