JOB OVERVIEW
Full-time Financial Controller to oversee accounting and financial aspects for confidential. An employee in this role should be passionate about accounting and maintaining accurate financial statements for company leadership. Reports to the Director of Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Oversees and manages the accounting department staff and daily functions, including but not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and treasury management
• Oversees and manages the forecasting and budgeting for the firm • Responsible for the timely completion of the weekly, monthly, and annual closing process
• Reviews account activity and determines what journal adjustments need to be recorded to ensure that financial statements present fairly the result of operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Maintains updated financial statements, account reconciliations, and an effective internal control environment
• Compiles, consolidates, and analyzes various accounting and finance information
• Identifies and fixes inconsistencies and problems, and/or brings recommendations to the Director of Operations attention
• Presents company financial information directly to company leadership while recommending further course of action
• Supports company leadership in steering the strategic plan for the firm and performing risk analysis and management
• Coordinate with outside vendors, including firm insurance, CPA, financial advisor, and legal services, to ensure timely and accurate information is provided
• Oversee annual company valuation and its impact on company owned insurance policies
• Manage company 401(k) plan, in conjunction with external financial advisor, to ensure all applicable filings are made and the plan is in conformance with applicable laws and regulations
• Keep, record, and report financial record of closely held LLC for the property owners
• Support and assist Human Resources with the annual review of employee benefit plans and the bi-weekly processing of payroll • Provides support to other departments by answering questions and providing accurate financial information HH ARCHITECTURE
FINANCIAL CONTROLLER SKILLS
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Power Point, and Excel)
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint
• Experience with Quickbooks
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Keen attention to detail • Ability to work independently
• Experience with Sub-S Corporation reporting
• Experience with company tax filings, including but not limited to, Section 174 and 174-D QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Financial Manager, or similar role
• Experience in the AEC industry preferred
• 8+ years of experience
