We are seeking an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer / Project Manager with strong FDOT highway and drainage design expertise to join our growing Transportation team. This individual will play a key role in leading and delivering complex roadway and drainage projects, mentoring junior staff, and managing client relationships.
As a leader in our practice, you will have the opportunity to shape projects from concept through construction, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with FDOT standards, and on-time, on-budget delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager on FDOT highway and drainage projects, overseeing scope, schedule, and budget.
- Lead the design and analysis of roadway drainage systems, stormwater management facilities, and hydraulic structures in accordance with FDOT and local standards.
- Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, construction documents, and permit applications.
- Collaborate with FDOT, municipalities, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
- Contribute to business development by supporting proposals, client presentations, and building long-term client relationships.
- Ensure QA/QC processes are followed and deliverables meet high technical standards.
Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida with at least 2+ years post-registration experience.

8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including FDOT highway and drainage design projects.
- Proven project management or deputy project management experience on transportation/drainage projects.
- Proficiency in FDOT drainage design tools, including ICPR, GEOPAK Drainage, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of FDOT design manuals, procedures, and permitting requirements.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to lead teams and interact with clients effectively.
